Naomi Wallace, Adult Education Pastor
I always feel awkward writing bios. Maybe it’s because I’m introverted and this feels too much like small talk. I’d much rather have some deep theological conversation than talk about me. But let’s give this a whack, shall we?
My husband, Keith and I started attending Hope in January 1999. We were newlyweds trying to find a church home and our first Sunday at Hope, we just knew. This was our place! Not gonna lie, the fact that we didn’t have to dress up was a huge win for both of us. But more than that, we were drawn by the authenticity and the no-frills approach that keeps Jesus as the center of all we do and who we are.
After several years of being a stay-at-home mom, I began feeling restless, wondering what God had in store for me beyond raising two of the most amazing kids you’ll ever meet. (I could be a bit biased!) With Keith’s encouragement I started grad school, receiving a Masters in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2018.
I came on staff in 2021 as the Adult Education Pastor. I love to learn and wear the title “Bible Nerd” proudly. It's one of my greatest joys to take what I’ve learned and pass it on to others. But even more than that, I love challenging others to make their faith their own. This is where my love of deep conversation comes in handy. In my classes there are no stupid questions, and no question is off limits. My greatest desire in teaching is two-fold: (1) to put the Bible in context so that you can understand it and (2) to help you deepen your faith as you study God’s Word.
My favorite hangouts: used bookstores, and anywhere I can read a book!
