Mark Hershey, Adult Ministries Pastor
Whether I'm teaching, preaching or facilitating small groups, I love helping people discover God’s greatness and how He deserves to be first in their lives.
I grew up in the beautiful landscapes of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. While I was helping to lead an outreach event for my high school, I felt the Lord nudging me towards vocational ministry. I attended Cedarville University in Ohio, majoring in Bible, while I also volunteered as a youth pastor. After graduating in 2007, I ontinued my education at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, and earned a Master of Divinity in 2010. During my years at Trinity, I started an intentional living community that still exists today and I also served as a Worship Leader part-time.
I moved to Wichita in 2010 when I accepted the position of High School Youth Pastor at Hope. In 2017 I became Pastor of Adult Ministries, where I currently oversee various ministries that help people grow closer to Jesus in smaller spaces.
My wife, Sarah, and I met at Cedarville and got married in 2010. We live in Andover and have two daughters, Norah and Lena. During the 2022-23 school year, our family moved to Guadalajara, Mexico to teach at a school as missionaries. As a family, we enjoy vacation to the beach, mountains, or to visit family. I love talking about, planning, and doing anything related to woodworking, soccer, trips, air guitar, and the outdoors!
