What's the point?

Have you ever had one of those moments when you stop and wonder, “What’s the point of all this?” Maybe it was after a long day at work where the meetings felt endless and the emails kept piling up. Or maybe it hit you during one of those sleepless nights when your brain wouldn’t stop asking questions you don’t have answers for. What’s the point of all the running around, the striving, the worrying, the social media scrolling? What’s the point of life itself?

If you’ve ever asked that question, you’re not alone. It’s a question that’s haunted humanity for centuries. And it’s a question King Solomon wrestled with in the book of Ecclesiastes. Despite having unmatched wealth, wisdom, and power, Solomon took a hard look at life and didn’t shy away from the big questions—the uncomfortable ones about meaning, purpose, and what actually matters.

Starting this Sunday, we’re kicking off a brand-new sermon series called What’s the Point? Together, we’ll walk through Ecclesiastes and learn from Solomon’s brutally honest reflections. He searched for meaning in work, pleasure, relationships, wealth, and success, and yet he found himself asking, “Is this all there is?” His journey through disillusionment and doubt might sound heavy, but it’s exactly the kind of truth we need. Solomon’s raw honesty will lead us to answers that bring clarity, hope, and even joy. And spoiler alert: his conclusions might just surprise you. They’re not always tidy or easy, but they’re deeply real. And real is what we’re all searching for, isn’t it?

So many of us feel stuck in the grind, overwhelmed by busyness, or wondering if we’re missing something bigger. If that sounds familiar, this series is for you. And if you’ve got a friend who’s been asking similar questions, why not invite them to join you? After all, who doesn’t want to know… what’s the point?

Hope to see you this Sunday!

Peace,
Nick
