For thirty-five years, Hope Community Church has been sharing the love of Jesus with anyone that walks through our doors. During the last few months we have been celebrating all that the Heavenly Father has done through this rag-tag, Jesus-loving group!
However, our mission as a Church extends farther than to just those who walk through our doors. We have a long history of serving those within our community, and since day one we have placed a high priority on loving and caring for those all around the world in Jesus’ name. Because of this, it just seems right to use our 35th anniversary celebration to care for some of the least of these.
According to the UN Refugee Agency, there are currently 89.3 million people worldwide who were forcibly displaced from their homes as a result of persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations, or events seriously disturbing public order. This means that approximately one in eight-eight people worldwide have been forcibly displaced from their homes.
Can you imagine needing to leave your home, job, community, and all that is familiar to head out into the unknown in search of safety? Many times, these refugees--our brothers and sisters--leave with nothing. These refugees are truly in need of some of life’s basic essentials. Are you willing to help?
For our 35th anniversary we are taking a love offering and will be giving it all to Tutapona and Heart for Lebanon.
Tutapona is a Christ-centered organization that works with some of the world’s most war-affected communities to provide quality mental health services. Tutapona is a Swahili word that means “we will be healed,” and since 2008 they have been leading individuals affected by war or conflict to emotional recovery. (To learn more about the vision and mission of Tutapona, check out tutapona.com).
Heart for Lebanon is a long-time mission partner of Hope. They come alongside families living in despair by helping meet physical needs, providing access to education, and building authentic relationships that allow them to introduce others to the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. The effects of the ongoing refugee crisis only deepen the pain and suffering in Lebanon. Heart for Lebanon is taking full advantage of this unique season to reach, engage, and disciple men, women and children, many of whom have never heard the truth about Jesus Christ. For our 35th anniversary, let's give generously to support these causes! If you are interested, there are a couple of ways you can give:

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. (Matt 25:35)
Let’s give generously!
