High School Mission Trip Application (Summer 2023)

Mission Trips are a huge part of what we do as Hope Students! We focus on two things: the spiritual growth of our students and the service of those who are in need. This is no small commitment so please take your time and think as you sign up for these trips. Please know this is an APPLICATION, not all students are guaranteed a spot on the trip they apply for.

Wichita Trip:

Dates: June 14th-June 16th (Wednesday-Friday)
Cost: $100
This trip is first available to incoming Freshmen, underclassmen who have never been on this trip, and upperclassmen who desire to be student leaders. On this trip, students will begin to learn about the overall scope of missions. What is God's heart for the poor? How does he desire to participate in His work? What does it look like to live our lives on a mission (with purpose)? We will also learn about some of the unique challenges of our inner city. In what ways do people in the inner-city experience brokenness (emotional, spiritual, physical, mental, monetary, etc.) and in what ways do we experience brokenness? How can we help others without hurting themselves or us in the process?

Kansas City Trip:

Dates: July 23-29 (Sunday-Saturday)
Cost: $625
This trip will primarily be for those who have participated in the Wichita Mission Trip and are already plugged into High School ministry. This trip will focus on the real-life application of our faith and not just in this one-week out of the year. This is a leadership development trip. We know life has surprises, but if you want to commit to this trip, you’re committing to a family who wants to help you in your walk and grow right there alongside you, and this cannot be done in just one week. You are committing to challenge others, be challenged yourself, but most of all to grow in your relationship with the Father.

If you are a part of our Kansas City trip team you are committing to:

Paying for all the costs associated with your trip via fundraising, letter writing, and/or personal payments.

Being someone who unifies your team and does not exclude other team members.

Serving and working with others from another culture/background with humbleness and respect.

Being creative, having fun, and having an open mind about missions and other cultures.

Beginning in MAY up until the time of the Adventure Trips, there will be mandatory pre-trip meetings that will take place up to every other week. These are important meetings (usually 3-4 meetings) that you will commit to attend.

During the 2023-24 school year, I commit to using my talents and gifts to encourage and help build up the body of Christ. I recognize that going on this trip gives me a platform to discover my gifts and the months after this trip will be a time to help me exercise and grow these gifts.
