There comes a time when you need to step away from the comparison game. Wishing for someone else’s personality, talents, or life can be exhausting, but the truth is, you were never meant to be them. You don’t have to chase after some ideal version of yourself to find purpose—God created you with intention, just as you are.
Because here’s the truth: God didn’t mess up when He made you.
Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
That’s not just some poetic fluff. That’s reality. God handcrafted you, put breath in your lungs, and said, “This one’s good!” But for some reason, we struggle to believe that. We act like He made a mistake—like He forgot to give us the right personality or enough talent or the kind of life that really matters.
But God isn’t in the business of making mistakes.
What if when you are feeling stuck, it isn’t because you’re missing something—but because you have yet to own who God actually made you to be? What if freedom isn’t found in becoming more like someone else, but in finally embracing the person He created you to be?
Galatians 1:10 asks a hard question: “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
That’s a gut check. If your life is one long audition for someone else’s approval, you’re going to stay exhausted and empty. But when you start trusting that God did a great job making you, you might finally breathe a little easier.
So today, we can stand in the truth that God made you—on purpose, with purpose—and He’s proud of His creation, He’s not second-guessing it.
The question is: Are you?
Peace,
Nick
